Metallic Puddles is a brief colony event chain that has a very small chance to trigger 2 years after any colony has been founded. It can only happen once per game.

After a recent rainfall, colonists have noticed metallic puddles appearing on the surface of [colony name]. These puddles have a viscous consistency, like liquid metal.

  • Planet is Arid, Continental, Savannah or Tropical

A new element has been discovered on [colony name]! After a breakthrough in the case of the viscous metallic puddles, we have discovered the puddles comprise a unique chemical element. The element, which we're calling [colony name]onium, is present in the air on [colony name], but when introduced to high precipitation, takes on the viscous consistency we have seen on the planet's surface. Their appearances are cyclical, much like dihydrogen-monoxide based puddles.

A fascinating discovery. Our understanding of the elements continues to grow.
