Faction Files 1.5[edit]

I think I found the Faction files. They are in Stellaris\common\pop_faction_types, one File per faction. 9 Factions in total (2 Xenophobe ones). There are a few more things then just issues and names to consider for the table, however: Every Faction type has a Name (Imperialist, Isolationist), a Guiding Ethics, if it is Unique or not (might be later used for Xenophobe Factions segregated by species), Potential/Requirements (mostly not being a Hive Mind and having contacted a alien Empire, but sometimes it is techs or policies), wich Pops can join (mostly the fitting Ethos and being neitehr slave nur Purgrees; but again, that changes), Atraction (usually base 100, but modified by Multiple Ethics) and then the Issues.

Actions are defined on a per-Faction basis. While mostly a repitition, this might allow some modding/development Feedom later.

Going just by imperialist the issues are: IMPERIALIST_PHILOSOPHY +5/0, IMPERIALIST_CONQUEST[1] +10/0, IMPERIALIST_FRONTIER_OUTPOSTS* +2/0, IMPERIALIST_RIVALS1/IMPERIALIST_RIVALS2/IMPERIALIST_RIVALS3[2] with 1/2/3 Rivals and +2/+3/+5 per Level, IMPERIALIST_NO_FEDERATION 0/-25, IMPERIALIST_DOMINATION_TRADITION +5/0,

[1]These two require Flags: imperialist_conquest_timed_flag and imperialist_frontier_outpost_timed_flag. Whose names strongly indicates they will be only applicable for a time. That should somehow make it into the table too, no idea how yet.

[2]It would be ideal if we could make them into one Issue, as to not bloat the table.

Ethics Atraction[edit]

Apparently I suffered from temporal blindness since 1.5 was released - because I managed to miss the file in wich the Ethics atraction is defined, despite looking at and into it 3 times at least.

Stellaris/common/ethics/00_ethics.txt – see: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/unexplained-pacifist-attraction-upon-making-first-contact.1011643/#post-22647519

Under the normal version of the Ethics, all pop Atraction tags are listed plain as day. However those might only be informational nature. It seems the real values are defined under country atraction. Wich also contains the Indoctrination Events for Primitive Countries, just to make it less readable.

Well, at least I now know where it is. --The Founder (talk) 06:40, 10 April 2017 (CEST)

Detailed Issues List[edit]

So our Known Factions section should be more or less complete now. Are we ready to delete the Detailed Issues List section? --WealthyAardvark (talk) 10:12, 13 April 2017 (CEST)

It is a pitty for whoever made it, but I do feel my approach to it is a definetly better. Not know how to trigger a Faction, what pops can join or how to Trigger an Issue to appear seriously limits how well you can use the Factions to your advantage.

Stop updating Version without verifying anything![edit]

It is not the first time that someone updated the Version and Sversion tags to the current version, without actually investing work to verify a single thing.

I hit the first discrepancy in the requirements for the first faction, wich showcased a general change (all factions now check for years_passed > 10). But if I had not asumed somebody had changed the numbers without doing any work, this faulty state would be standing here for all eternity. Because I now can not trust a single thing, I have to invest extra work just to make certain the page is not totally scrambeled.

If you can not invest the time to actualyl do the full verification, please do not change the Version and SVersion tags. You are doing more harm then good. --The Founder (talk) 21:46, 28 September 2017 (CEST)
