Carefree Scientist[edit]

A Scientist being "Carefree" (less meticulous as the description says) is actually a good thing for research speed?! Shouldn't be the other way around?--Kensai7 (talk) 11:19, 26 May 2016 (CEST)

It only boosts anomaly research speed - meaning that a more meticulous scientist would spend a lot of time with safety procedures because they're dealing with the unknown.
What bothers me is that the trait doesn't reduce anomaly research success chance. Vercinger (talk) 21:21, 5 June 2016 (CEST)
Well, Leader trait careful.png Careful does not reduce anomaly research speed either. I guess the design philosophy is that a trait should be decidedly better than no trait, and given that anomaly research doesn't take overly much time, I would actively avoid using a scientist with a penalty to the success chance. Psionics catch 22?[edit]

On this page, it says that psionics expertise requires the research Psionic Theory. On the research page however, it says Psionic Theory can be researched by materialists, but only if their scientist is an expert in psionics. So, is psionics for materialists locked behind console commands, or an ethic changing event chain? Is one of the pages outdated? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.250.68.55 (talk) 03:39, 5 March 2018‎ (CET)

  • Materialists can get Psionic Theory if the scientist is Maniacal. Materialist scientists can also acquire Expertise: Psionics by leveling up or an anomaly event.--Sylvanas (talk) 07:18, 5 March 2018 (CET)
