Request I[edit]

Can someone with the required right delete the following files so I can move the correct versions to those names?

Thanks. I forgot to list File:Direct_Democracy.png. Also as soon as I implement the icons to the various articles there will be a ton of useless redirects, so if you care about that delete them too. --Ben Kerman (talk) 13:12, 30 March 2016 (CEST)
Redirects really aren't an issue. File redirects are pretty pointless most of the time, but page redirects are great to have. They generally make it easier for the user to find what they're looking for. ~ Meneth (talk) 13:13, 30 March 2016 (CEST)

I imagine we'll have better sources when the game will be live. I was largely planing only on enabling their use through the template. BTW, I was meaning to ask, why did you decided to go with black backgrounds for the icons instead of transparent/white like with EU4? The Stellaris UI is very dark, so many of the icons are hard to see against a white background (E.G., the wiki background). So a black circle was added behind many of the icons. ~ Meneth (talk) 20:28, 5 May 2016 (CEST)

Icon size[edit]

Would it be possible to significantly reduce the icon sizes to 1.5em instead of 28px? 22px works too, it's a little less than the line-height and is the actual size of most of the icons currently in use.

They would look a lot better in-line. They wouldn't stand out too much and disrupt the paragraph flow. In addition, they should look more like how they do in-game.

Instead of imagining what that might look like, why don't you tell me which looks better?

Due to the nature of the icons [most with black background] it's hard to notice any details if they are too small, basically rendering them useless. While some are not problematic at small sizes [as you pointed out] the majority are and it is preferred to have same-sized icons across the board. ~ SolSys (talk) 10:04, 13 May 2016 (CEST)

I also support lowering them [to 24px instead], but that causes a problem with the modifier icons who have a black background; for example, search here User:SolSys/sandbox for Corps of Engineers. It shouldn't be a problem if the black background is removed [BTW, trait icons don't suffer from this problem]. ~ SolSys (talk) 10:49, 13 May 2016 (CEST)
The icons already come in different sizes, with most displayed at 28px, and buildings at 50px. The resource icons have a native size of 22px, and I think they should be displayed at that size. The rest of the icons are larger, with most being displayed at their native sizes. It is only the resource icons that need to be changed, and they are used most-frequently. Resource icons also tend to have particularly distinctive colors and shapes which make them easier to distinguish at their smaller sizes (like they are in-game). --IphStich (talk) 11:28, 13 May 2016 (CEST)
When I wrote same-sized icons I refereed to uniform icon size within their respective categories. There are currently 3 different category sizes: modifiers/general, building, tech/achievement. ~ SolSys (talk) 11:47, 13 May 2016 (CEST)
I think the problem is with the deployment of the template, instead of using 28px as an argument we should use 22px for the resources. Does this solve the issue? Dauth (talk) 12:13, 13 May 2016 (CEST)

Could someone add icons to cover modifiers: Governing Ethics Attraction, Robot Maintenance Cost, Consumer Goods Cost, Faction Influence Gain, Slave Unrest (currently using slavery tolerance, could also use unrest if needs), Border Growth (currently using Planet Border Extrusion which looks ok, but the tooltip description spoils things - perhaps just change the image name as the picture is fine --PaulMClem (talk) 11:03, 7 April 2017 (CEST)

Thanks for those two. With the Traditionalsit Faction, Tech subdermal stimulation.png Subdermal Stimulation came up. Also the Ascenion Perks (Technological and Psionic path in Particular) kept comming up all across the Faction, Ethics and Megastructure mechanics. Did not try to Icnofiy those however. Thanks for that one too, but even more came up with my rework of the AI Rebellion Crisis. And they will propably be usefull for the Syntehthic Ascension too: Robotic 1, Robotic 2, Robotic 3. I've added the species traits. The leader traits (Cyborg, Psychic and Chosen One) are a little bit tricky, as they are avaiable for all types of leaders. Ideas? – Lillebror (talk) 10:15, 14 April 2017 (CEST)
Thanks! I guess the problem is the question of which version of the trait the icon should link to? I guess the most sensible option would be to have different icons for each version that link to each of the separate entries, and make whoever's using them think about which version to use. There are actually 5 different versions (on per Leader Class, including Ruler) of the Psionic, Cyborg, Synth and Choosen One trait. They carry their class right in their name (leader_trait_admiral_psionic) and just happen to all references the same Graphic (leader_trait_psionic_leader.dds). And that is before you consider the "Psionic" Species trait. You could just cut it down to admiral_psionic and species_psionic I think. The game has to "translate" the version of the Trait, on getting or loosing rulership. I also wanted to ask for the Latent Psionic and Trait psionic species.png Psionic Species Traits. Incorrect Naming[edit]

I noticed that the icons for the Energy Grid and Energy Nexus are labeled as power hub i and power hub ii, respectively. Perhaps these should be changed to properly reflect their name? Ascension Perks are missing[edit]

In the hope that someone still keeps this list updated, the Icons for Ascension Perks seem to be totally missing. I wanted to use {{iconify|synthetic evolution}}" in a Text and learned it did not work --The Founder (talk) 08:11, 14 December 2018 (CET)
