Each planet has a small chance of containing a modifier that will affect the colony should the world be colonized. They may be positive, negative or mixed, identified by the color of the modifier's border.
Random anomalies can generate a great variety of planet modifiers but those usually do not have any effects.
These modifiers can appear at random on any planet outside an empire's home system. Some of them can be removed if the planet is terraformed.
Event triggering modifiers
The following random modifiers will cause an event roughly one year after the planet is colonized. The event can only trigger once per colony.
Unique modifiers will always appear on certain predetermined planets and cannot be found anywhere else.
Homeworld modifiers can only be added to the capital world of an empire by Origins when the game starts.
|Stage||Job output||Habitability||Stability||Immigration pull||Emigration push||Description|
|I||+30%||-30%||-10||-50%||+100||This planet is doomed. It is tectonically unstable and will eventually explode.|
Cannot support certain buildings:
|Create Resort World||Landscaped to perfection and featuring a fully customizable global weather control system, every facet of this world's design is devoted to providing a wide range of vacation options for citizens in need of relaxation.|
||Create Penal Colony||This world is filled with strictly controlled criminals, paying off their debt to society in labor camps. For many, the debt will never be repaid.|
||Create Thrall-World||This world is purpose-built to maximize the growth rate of its enslaved population.|
Event modifiers can only be added by events.
|Available only with the Distant Stars DLC enabled.|
Anomaly modifiers can only be added by random anomalies from the Distant Stars DLC. Anomalies from the base game can add modifiers as well but those do not have any effects.
Unorganized planet modifiers
The following modifiers were found in the game files and are unorganized. The list is still being made. There are over 370 planet modifiers, including decisions and previously identified modifiers, that were found within the files. (WIP)
