Events[edit]

It's best not to create a new page for a single event, but instead to put it on a single page with other events from the same file. If you'd like to do so check the events page and pick an event page/file to work on [you can work on the first 2 pages as they are not finished yet]. ~ SolSys (talk) 00:13, 18 May 2016 (CEST)

Actually, no. One page with huge list is terrible to navigate, heavy to read and load. Wikisoft has nice feature called categories that generate lists for specific pages on the fly thus having page for each event makes the pages light and also solves the problem of all events not following the same structure thus making a single page list of events a clumsy. No. Tiny individual pages are horrible to find. Avoiding overdoing splintering is critical.
All events do have the same basic structure. Some sections can be left out, which templates account for easily. ~ Meneth (talk) 00:20, 18 May 2016 (CEST)
It's also important to note that a single page/file makes future maintenance work easier. ~ SolSys (talk) 00:24, 18 May 2016 (CEST)
There is page that list all events and search catches&suggests the events directly as they are articles. This does not happen in god page/single article of all events. What are the down sides of having single article per event? All events do not have the same structure. Some have one option with one outcome, others have several options and paths. Having a brief page of all event outcomes can also be generated through event template that collects all the child's of event category and dynamically generates the list. I would like to hear what are the benefits of one single page over several as several pages can do the same effect and more than a one god article. Yes, indeed having single article per EVENT makes it easy to maintain as you only need to scan trough one article that has all the relevant info instead of 8 pages of non-relevant. [Unindented] Simply put, it makes it easier for us to maintain ~45 event pages as opposed to hundreds. ~ SolSys (talk) 01:02, 18 May 2016 (CEST)

Meadiwiki software which we use also has redirects to automatically point people to the event within the page so navigation is easier. Dauth (talk) 12:20, 18 May 2016 (CEST)
