This article is for the PC version of Stellaris only.

Stellaris has 95 different achievements, all using the Steam achievements mechanics. Achievements have no in-game effects, the achievement just pops up in-game and then added to the player's Steam profile. It is possible to see the achievements sorted by the percentage of users that managed to complete each achievement by going to the game's global stats at Steam.

The difficulty of each achievement varies; some achievements are very easy (e.g. colonizing a planet), while some are extremely difficult (e.g. end-game crisis achievements). The below list groups the various achievements by a difficulty level as assessed by the wiki editors (uncategorized - UC - achievements haven't been assessed yet).

Achievements can only be gained in Ironman games. They can be earned while playing older versions of the game as long as said achievements were present in that version, as well as after any empire has attained a victory.

General tips

  • Using Settings can make several achievements easier. In particular, setting the galaxy to have no other AI empires (besides Primitive Civilizations) prevents spaceborne aliens from being killed by AI empires; this is useful for getting the "Warrior of Light" achievement as wraiths tend to wander the galaxy.

The "Notes" column lists helpful short tips/strategies.

The   column denotes achievements which can't be completed without the use of DLC mechanics (currently 44 out of 95). Multiple expansion icons mean either can be used.

The "Ver" column indicates in which version a certain achievement was added. Achievements cannot be earned prior to the version they were added in.

The "DI" column is for difficulty as assessed by wiki editors. VE = Very Easy, E = Easy, M = Medium, H = Hard, VH = Very Hard, I = Insane, UC = Uncategorized.

Has destroyed an enclave station It is recommended to destroy an artisan enclave if going for this achievement, as it will not incur a negative opinion penalty with other empires, unlike the other types of enclave, and to also keep in mind that such stations generally possess ~10k fleet power.   1.4 M

As an authoritarian Empire with at least 500 Pops, have at least 200 enslaved Pops

Be a biological Hive Mind with at least 1000 drone Pops.

Find the home system of a precursor empire.

Easily accomplished by lowering the number of starting empires while turning up the Pre-FTL civilizations to 5x, and then simply explore and invade 4 Pre-FTL civs.   1.8 H

Restore an ancient warship.

Use a Global Pacifier to shield a planet belonging to Fanatic Purifiers, Ravenous Swarms, or Determined Exterminators.

Planned Obsolescence
As a materialist empire, have at least 75% of the pops in your empire be robotic in an empire with at least 200 pops.
Best done by going for   Synthetic Evolution Ascension Perk and converting your entire empire to synths. Curiously, in v1.8 the   Materialism ethic is not required for this achievement, making it feasible to unlock this as a   Machine Intelligence empire of at least 200 pops. (This is no longer true in the latest patch. Confirmed with machine empire of over 1000 pops.) 1.4 H

Best done by having a lot of vassals or being a migrant friendly empire. An alternative path is to conquer the planet "The Preserve" from an Enigmatic Observers Fallen Empire. Curiously, as   Driven Assimilator you can conquer a planet with at least five species, because organics and cybernetics are counted as separate species. 1.4 H
 
Unboxing
Open up a shielded world.
Has chosen and completed the project to lower the barrier on a shielded world Shielded worlds appear near or inside xenophobic Fallen Empires. 1.4 H
 
United Space
Build an Interstellar Assembly
Has constructed a complete Interstellar Assembly (this does not include restoring destroyed Interstellar Assembly)   2.2 H
 
Unravelling Enigma
Uncover the secrets of an ancient fortress.
Has successfully defeated and completed the event chain of the Enigmatic Fortress See the Enigmatic Fortress main article for information in how to defeat it. After defeating it it is trivial to successfully complete this event chain by following a guide.   1.4 H
 
Very Open Borders
As a xenophilic empire, have migration treaties with at least 10 other empires.
Easiest to get during a crisis (so other empires like you more due to the Mutual Threat modifier), on a huge galaxy with max empires (so the pool of potential migrants is larger), owning a Gaia world (so you fulfil the habitability requirements), and avoiding expansionist conquest (so you do not generate Threat yourself). Even easier if you release as many 1-planet vassals as needed towards the end of the game. 1.4 H
 
Victorious
Win the game through any victory condition.

Warrior of Light
Destroy a wraith.

See The Contingency main article for information in how to defeat it. Like all crisis lowering the crisis power down to 0.5x will make this a lot easier to achieve. The player must be the one to take down the last machine world for the achievement to be acknowledged. 1.8 VH
 
Inscrutable Power
I won the Galatron and all I got was this lousy achievement.
The Galatron is a very rare reward from the Caravaneers reliquaries. What makes it difficult is that only 5 reliquaries can be bought during a game.   2.2 VH
 
Last, Best Hope
Lead the non-aligned powers to victory against an awakened empire.
Has taken up the position of the Leader of the League of Non-Aligned Empires during a War in Heaven which has then defeated both awakened empires. Best time to go for this is when a crisis is happening at the same time near an awakened Fallen Empires.   1.4 VH
 
Queening
Successfully capture an extragalactic matriarch.
Has captured the Prethoryn queen 1.0 VH
 
Retirement Home
As a Rogue Servitor, own at least 10 Pops from Fallen Empires.
Have the   Rogue Servitor civic and >9 pops which started the game in a Fallen Empire Not every pop of a Fallen Empire species counts for this achievement (e.g. it doesn't trigger from refugee pops who then multiply). The surest way to accomplish it is simply to attack a Fallen Empire and have them cede a world of 10 or more pops.   1.8 VH
 
Rift Sealed
Destroy the portals employed by the invaders from another time and space.
Has defeated the extradimensional Unbidden Similar to the Contingency, the player must be the one to deliver the final blow to the portal. 1.0 VH
 
Rise of the Machines
As a Determined Exterminator, conquer or eliminate all biological Empires in the galaxy.
Curiously, the   Determined Exterminator civic is not required to complete this achievement.
For clarity, vassals do not qualify as conquered.
  1.8 VH
 
Suffer not the Alien
As a xenophobic empire, purge all other sentient species in the galaxy.
Has, as a   xenophobe empire, destroyed and purged the sapient inhabitants of all other empires More-experienced players may find this achievement easier to attain as   Fanatic Purifiers due to the relevant bonuses. 1.4 VH
 
Voight-Kampff
Develop the means to prevent nefarious infiltration.
Has found a way to stop the synthetic infiltration Complete the event chain to detect synthetic infiltrators during the Contingency crises. 1.0 VH
 
What Was Will Be
Close the loop, or don't.
Has completed the Horizon Signal event chain and either accepted or rejected the Worm's request See the Horizon Signal events article for more information. 1.4 VH
 
Whence It Came
Defeat a horrifying invader.
Has defeated the Dimensional Horror See the Dimensional Horror main article for information in how to defeat it.   1.4 VH
