On a minor note: While playing as custom human empire, alien insults and compliments might use sphinx/beast, instead of proper angel/monkey. Reason is that insults depend not on portraits but on class of species and for some reason, custom humans are rendered as "HUM" (humanoid) class, rather than "Human". TO fix it, simply replace "class="HUM"" with "class="Human"" under your custom human species in Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/user_empire_designs.txt or, if you already started the game, same line under custom human species in your save game.
